ACY – YONNE AIRCLUB
The history of the Yonne Airclub began a few years after the end of World War One, in 1929. It was set up by Jean MOREAU (1888-1972).
Jean Moreau was a squadron leader for fighter planes during the 1914-1918 war and colonel commandant for Air Transport Groups in 1939-1940.
In 1929, he set up the Yonne Airclub and, in 1931, launched the project to build Auxerre aerodrome, in the locality of Les Isles (today an industrial estate).
