The Joint Syndicate of Auxerre-Branches Airport met on August 23 and approved the decision to extend Edeis’s role as operator of Auxerre-Branches Airport from September 1, 2023, through December 31, 2031.
Auxerre-Branches Airport is not only a key regional infrastructure, but also an important driver of socio-economic development for the Auxerrois Urban Community, the Yonne Department, and the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region.
Edeis has been managing the airport since February 5, 2016.
Over the next eight years, the shared objectives of the Joint Syndicate and Edeis are to:
- Make the airport a catalyst for local growth, ensuring air operations essential to sport, medical, and business flights, while also promoting the site’s associative, educational, sporting, and industrial activities;
- Support the implementation of the aeronautical easement plan to enable the airport to fully utilize its infrastructure in the short and medium term;
- Enhance the airport’s image through an ambitious €1.2 million investment program;
- Commit the airfield to an environmentally responsible approach, supporting the decarbonization of aircraft and protecting the site’s biodiversity.
As France’s leading operator of regional airports, Edeis is proud of the work accomplished since 2016 and honored by the renewed trust of the SMAAB for the next eight years.
Nicolas Briolland, President of the SMAAB, stated:
“Our goal is to make Auxerre Airport a key tool for economic development that serves the region, in alignment with environmental priorities.
Edeis will effectively support the Syndicate in implementing this project — of that, we are convinced.”
